Job summary

The State of Georgia's Department of Law is seeking attorneys to join its Attorney General applicant pool, open to all vacancies across divisions. As an Assistant Attorney General, you will serve as legal advisor to state agencies and officials, handling diverse matters from regulatory issues to complex litigation.

Graduation from an accredited law school and Georgia Bar in good standing are required; preference given to those with relevant experience and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school and Member of the Georgia Bar in good standing
• Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the area of interest and ability to work in a team

Responsibilities

• Litigates cases in hearings and state/federal courts
• Researches and prepares pleadings, motions and briefs
• Participates in settlement negotiations and draft memoranda of advice
• Provides legal advice and representation to agencies and officials
• Attends meetings and continuing legal education seminars as required
