Job summary

Hoffman Hydronics in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a Field Support Manager to lead startup and warranty services for hydronic systems across the territory. You will guide a small team of specialists, collaborate with manufacturers’ tech support, and ensure startup quality and customer satisfaction.

You will train owners, operators, and maintenance personnel, read schematics and electrical diagrams, and travel regionally to support projects and warranty responses with confidence and care.

Qualifications

• Several years of commercial/industrial HVAC or boiler/hydronic field experience (startup/commissioning/warranty).
• Strong hands-on knowledge of boilers, pumps, water heaters, and controls; able to read piping schematics, wiring diagrams, and specs.
• Experience leading or mentoring technicians or building a team.
• Confident communicator who keeps owners/contracts calm and informed during service situations.
• Comfortable working with manufacturers’ technical support and representing the company in the field.
• Organized documentation and readiness to use tech tools to capture knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead startup and warranty activities on boilers, pumps, water heaters, controls, and related hydronic systems across the territory.
• Verify installations and performance against manufacturer specs and design intent before leaving sites.
• Coordinate and support warranty issue resolution with diagnostics and timely communication.
• Build out a Rep Services team: define skills, recruit, interview, and hire.
• Coach technicians on startup quality, troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication.
• Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers’ tech support and field teams in the region.
• Help develop standard startup procedures, knowledge database, and digital tools for the team.
• Collaborate with sales and parts teams to share field insights and support aftermarket sales.
