SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP is seeking a Propulsion Engineer (STARSHIP) to develop fluid systems for interplanetary vehicles. You will size, design, analyze, and help build high-performance systems including cryogenic fluid management and pressure controls.

The role involves detailed mechanical design, structural analysis, and collaboration with manufacturing teams to optimize flight hardware production and testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, materials engineering or engineering physics.
  • 1+ years of mechanical or fluids design, analysis, or build experience.
  • Experience with GD&T concepts and FEA software.
  • Experience with pressurized components and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fluids system sizing analysis to determine basic system requirements.
  • Transform system requirements into hardware concepts and trade implementation options.
  • Design pressurized and unpressurized structures and parts with CAD models.
  • Perform structural analysis to ensure survivability of parts.
  • Drive the first builds of flight hardware and establish production lines.
  • Coordinate development, qualification, and acceptance testing of flight hardware.
  • Participate in design reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
