Job summary

SpaceX in the United States seeks a Mechanical Designer to join the Starship Launch Pad team. You will bridge architecture and build by designing electrical schematics, sizing conveyances, interfacing with fluids and mechanical components, and detailing control panels for launch pad environments.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years CAD experience; familiarity with NEC/NFPA 79, EPlan, weldments, and hazardous area installations is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience using CAD tools to design and model mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Detail electrical schematics in collaboration with automation & controls engineers.
  • Perform conduit fill calculations and initial sizing of conveyances.
  • Create CAD models and drawings of conduits, control panels, bracketry, and related access provisions.
  • Perform basic structural analysis to ensure designs are robust for launch pad environments.
  • Translate designs into planning for field installation.
  • Document designs and best practices.
