Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for the Launch Pad to develop and build launch and test systems for Starship. You will focus on electrical control systems for the launch mount, integration tower, and propellant farm, interfacing with high‑power equipment and communications networks.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 1+ years of design/commissioning experience in industrial automation, with strong emphasis on safety and documentation for rapid, high‑tempo

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 1+ years in control systems design/commissioning (internship ok).
• Experience with electrical control panels and industrial automation is preferred.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70/79, NEC, UL 508A is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, integrate and commission Starship launch pad control systems.
• Design electrical schematics and control panels compliant with NFPA/UL NEC codes.
• Develop PLC code, configure VFDs, and build intuitive HMI screens.
