Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for the Starship launch pads. You will architect, design, integrate, and commission electrical control systems for the launch mount, integration tower, and propellant farm, ensuring NFPA 79/NEC/UL 508A compliance and robust data communication.

You will develop PLC code, configure VFDs, create intuitive HMI screens, and coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams to deliver safe, reliable systems for high‑stakes launch environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; 1+ years in design and commissioning of control systems for industrial applications (internship qualifies).
  • Experience with electrical control panels, schematics, and industrial automation standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, integrate, and commission control systems for the Starship launch pads.
  • Design electrical panels compliant with NFPA 79/NEC/UL 508A and related control and data acquisition systems.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines to interface control systems with high‑power equipment and communication networks.
  • Develop and maintain control software, including PLC code and HMI screens, for robust and reusable solutions.
