Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for Starship Launch Hardware. The role is hands-on, designing and activating electrical and control systems for Starship at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, with responsibility for PLC, SCADA, and electrical panels.

You will join a team of engineers, write robust code, develop data acquisition interfaces, support ground equipment, and travel up to 15% for launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• 1+ years of experience with instrumentation power systems design, data acquisition systems, or programmable controllers (internship/project qualifies).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control systems critical to the launch organization.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code for manufacturing applications.
• Design and implement controls network infrastructure and data acquisition interfaces.
• Design, operate, upgrade, and maintain SCADA at launch and production sites.
• Layout NFPA79/NEC/UL508A compliant electrical panels and create schematics.
• Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing.
