Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Mechanical Engineer for Starship Launch Hardware in Cape Canaveral, FL. You will design and analyze mechanical systems for launch pads, recovery, and production tooling, while owning projects from concept through activation.

You will work with engineers across disciplines and coordinate with launch operations to ensure products meet form, function, and aesthetic expectations. Some travel and hands-on work will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 1+ years of professional experience with CAD/CAE tools (internships or projects count).
• Preference for Master’s degree and aerospace-related project experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems for launch pads, recovery, and production tooling.
• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership, coordinating build, testing and activation of the hardware.
• Collaborate with launch operations to ensure form, function, and aesthetics meet requirements.
• Utilize structural sizing and mechanisms knowledge to inform cost and schedule decisions.
• Present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership.
