Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Starship Launch Hardware in the United States. You will design, analyze, and activate production tools, launch pads, and recovery systems for Starship in collaboration with engineers from multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities include end-to-end project ownership, coordinating build, test, and activation, and ensuring the final products meet form, function, and aesthetics while considering cost and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years using CAD/FEA software (NX/CATIA/Creo/SolidWorks) in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems for launch pads, recovery, and production tooling.
• Demonstrate end-to-end project ownership, coordinating build, testing and activation of your designs.
• Collaborate with launch operations leadership to ensure form, function, and aesthetics meet expectations.
• Apply basic structural sizing, mechanisms, and design concepts while considering cost and schedule.
• Present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership.
