Purpose

This position is within our STARS (Sexual Trauma Awareness and Recovery Services) program and is part of our adult outpatient team. A Staff Therapist in the STARS program will provide individual and group therapy, with some case management, to adult survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and/or clients with mental health challenges. The services are provided primarily in our office and consist of therapeutic interventions that facilitate healing, trauma processing/recovery, and skill building. He or she works collaboratively as part of Adult Services team and articulate C4's mission and vision.

Title: Staff Therapist, STARS

Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

Purpose

This position is within our STARS (Sexual Trauma Awareness and Recovery Services) program and is part of our adult outpatient team. A Staff Therapist in the STARS program will provide individual and group therapy, with some case management, to adult survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and/or clients with mental health challenges. The services are provided primarily in our office and consist of therapeutic interventions that facilitate healing, trauma processing/recovery, and skill building. He or she works collaboratively as part of Adult Services team and articulate C4's mission and vision.

Work Conditions

Services will be provided mostly at the agency, with occasional community-based work necessary. A minimum of two evenings (working until 8 pm), is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field is required (art therapists are encouraged to apply.)
  • One or more years of experience working with adults with mental illness required
  • Completion of a 40-60 hour sexual assault counseling techniques training required

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, office-based mental health assessment, service planning/evaluation, therapeutic services, and some case management for adult survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and/or clients with mental health challenges.
  • Facilitate treatment intervention to maintain or enhance the client's capacity for independent functioning
  • Complete all necessary documentation (Mental Health Assessments, Treatment Plans, Progress Notes, etc.) in a complete and timely fashion, meeting agency standards/requirements.
  • Manage caseload and productivity to meet agency requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Supervisor and other members of the STARS/adult outpatient team, as well as other community service providers, in order to coordinate and integrate all aspects of care.
  • Develop treatment plans collaboratively with the client by defining goals, specific outcomes, and time frames for treatment
  • Facilitate hospitalization as needed
  • Adhere to confidentiality practices and procedures according to agency policies
  • Maintain compliance at all times with agency policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
