Job summary

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Tool & Die, Mechanical Design, or related technical degree program.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers to improve tooling designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and toolmakers to develop innovative tooling solutions.
  • Participate in tooling design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain tooling models, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Design quality control fixtures and gauges alongside Quality team members.
  • Lead and support projects involving manufacturing support equipment.
  • Take ownership of projects while developing problem-solving and technical skills.
  • Work in a hands-on manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Your Job

Join our team at Molex in Lincoln, Nebraska as a Stamping Die Design Intern! In this role, you will support Die design group as needed, designing tooling and creating drawings for dies and other production equipment.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with engineers to improve tooling designs and manufacturing processes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Tool & Die, Mechanical Design, or related technical degree program
  • Experience using CAD software through coursework, internships, co-op assignments, personal projects, or a production environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Mechanical, tooling, general maintenance, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment, machine tools, or tooling projects
  • Exposure to tooling design, drafting, machining, or fabrication through coursework, internships, clubs, or work experience
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment
