Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. seeks a full-time Stainless Steel Welder to join our Ellijay, GA location. You will perform MIG/MMA welding, inspect welds visually, and work with cranes or forklifts to move materials while following established procedures.

The ideal candidate reads engineering drawings, measures quickly to minimize scrap, and can stand for 8 hours, lifting heavy objects as needed. This role supports a safety-conscious, productive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG and MMA welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Capability to measure quickly and accurately to minimize scrap.
• Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Grind and preheat the steel with a torch.
• Move materials using cranes or forklifts.
• Weld components per approved procedures and inspect visually.
• Undertake weld qualification tests as required.
• Assist foreman in meeting production targets and maintain quality.

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Stainless Steel Welder to work at our Ellijay, GA location. Fabricators are responsible for cutting, join and shape metal and other materials, using heat and a range of tools. We specialize in the manufacture and distribution of a complete line of pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications since 1913. With five locations in the U.S and growing., our supports have been specified and installed on major water treatment, pharmaceutical, process piping, petro-chemical, hospitals, and school buildings as well as many other industrial projects throughout the world.

• Grinding and preheating the steel with a torch
• Moving materials through the operation of cranes and/or forklifts
• Welding of components in accordance with weld procedures
• Perform visual welding inspections
• Undertake weld qualification tests as required
• Assist the department foreman in meeting production targets
• Maintain quality standards
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Notify managers concerning any non-conformities and the need for repairs to the facility or equipment
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment

Shift Available:

• 6:30a-3:30pm

Ideal Candidate:

• Have experience in MIG/MMA welding process
• Candidates must be able to measure quickly and accurately in order to keep scrap at a minimum
• Be able to read engineering drawings
• Be able to stand and work in a warm environment for an 8-hour shift
• Be able to work independently and efficiently
• Be able to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds)
