Job summary

Riley Welding & Fabricating is seeking a Stainless Steel Welder to join our team. You will weld, fabricate, and assemble stainless structures and equipment using TIG/MIG processes, read blueprints, and ensure quality in both shop and field settings.

The role requires experience with 304, 310, and 316 stainless steel, as well as the ability to take concepts from drawing to finished product. Safety and precision are essential, with occasional travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
• Mastery of 304, 310 & 316 stainless TIG welding.
• Experience taking something from concept to drawing to completion.
• Physically capable and mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

Position: Stainless Steel Welder

Reports to: Project Manager

Summary

Responsible to weld, fabricate and assemble stainless steel structures, equipment, misc. projects through the use of welding machines, cutting machines, rollers and press brakes, along with measuring and layout tools to produce metal parts and assemblies according to customer or employer specifications either in the field or in the shop in an efficient manner while maintaining safety and quality expectations.

• Must keep building and/or assigned areas of jobsite clean and organized as necessary to maintain a Safe and productive working environment.
• Ensures that proper Safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Foreman/Plant Manager or Senior Project Manager.

• Functional use of press brake, shear, Iron Worker, rolling machines & saws
• Blueprint reading capability
• Experience taking something from concept to drawing to completion

• Ability to measure and differentiate types of materials
• Welding & Cutting Functions
• Mastery of 304, 310 & 316 Stainless Steel TIG welding
• Working knowledge of MIG welding
• Create welds that meet AWS standards
• Clean surrounding areas of any weld splatter
• Ensure no porosity or defects in welds
• Working knowledge of handheld torch and plasma cutting
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at customer job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 100 pounds. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6am to 4 pm. Starting time will change depending on the job. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Potential travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
