Job summary

Sight & Sound Brand is seeking a proactive stage manager to provide leadership, communication, and support across departments during rehearsals and daily show operations.

You will collaborate with the Show Operations Leadership Team to preserve the technical and artistic vision, call the show, manage backstage tasks, and uphold safety and core values.

Job description

Provide leadership, communication, and support across departments as it pertains to both the rehearsal process and day to day show operations. Collaborate across departments to ensure that show integrity and safety is maintained throughout the show run.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help to facilitate and provide high level oversite throughout rehearsals, show run, and other required company events, ensuring the needs of all stakeholders are met and that a consistent, professional, and safe work environment is maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Show Operations Leadership Team to help maintain the technical and artistic vision of the Show, including general awareness of onstage and offstage patterns for all departments.
  • Collaborate across departments to support the planning, training, and preparation for all upcoming shows.
  • Fulfill all duties of a stage manager with accuracy as assigned by your supervisor. This may include scheduling, communication, calling the show, running backstage tracks, documentation, etc.).
  • Actively promote and exemplify an environment that upholds our Core Values and Culture.
  • Work to build trust and teamwork throughout your entire department and all other Show Operations departments.
  • Attend any required leadership meetings as directed by your supervisor.

Prerequisites:

  • Desire and ability to develop, train and serve people in a team atmosphere with a high level of concern for both their professional and personal welfare
  • Excellent communication, organizational and listening skills, humility, self-awareness, and a teachable spirit
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and flexible under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and/or lead a project without direct supervision
  • Proven demonstration to handle tasks with accuracy and focus while receiving multiple pieces of communication at once
  • Ability to problem solve in a collaborative, positive and decisive manner

Other Skills and / or Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of theatrical standards and terminology

The physical demands of this position are active in nature. You will be on your feet most of the day, walking and running regularly, and consistently communicating with team members on a headset. This position is expected to lift/exert up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. The full physical requirements of this job are available upon request.
