Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Staffing Office Leader in Austin, TX, to manage the daily staffing office operations, ensuring timely shift coverage and optimal staffing levels. You will lead and mentor Staffing Office Coordinators across morning, day, and evening shifts, while driving key metrics and collaborating with recruiters and nursing leaders.

The role emphasizes process improvement, consistent guidelines, and a focus on efficiency and staff satisfaction within a large healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the staffing office, ensuring shifts are filled accurately and on time.
• Lead, coach, and schedule Staffing Office Coordinators to support operations across morning, day, and evening shifts.
• Monitor staffing metrics such as fill rates, cancellations, and response times, addressing gaps quickly.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex staffing issues, cancellations, and service concerns.
• Partner with recruiters, nursing leaders, and program leadership to align staffing decisions with workforce and labor strategy.
• Ensure staffing processes, guidelines, and communication standards are followed and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and staff satisfaction.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Oversee daily operations of the staffing office, ensuring shifts are filled accurately and on time.
• Lead, coach, and schedule Staffing Office Coordinators to support an operation across morning, day, and evening shifts.
• Monitor staffing metrics such as fill rates, cancellations, and response times, and address gaps quickly.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex staffing issues, cancellations, and service concerns.
• Partner with recruiters, nursing leaders, and program leadership to align staffing decisions with workforce and labor strategy.
• Ensure staffing processes, guidelines, and communication standards are followed consistently and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce premium labor, and enhance staff satisfaction.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education and Work Experience:

• High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred

Additional Preferences:

• 5 years health care staffing scheduling experience
• Previous leadership experience preferred
