Job Description
The Laurels of Charlottesville is seeking a Full-Time Staffing Coordinator for our premiere 120 bed sub-acute rehab/skilled nursing facility. We’re seeking an experienced individual with a great attitude and a willingness to step in to support the nursing department in times of need. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with a current certification or current Licensed Practical Nurse.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardiness.
- Communicating with Unit Managers, ADON, and the Director of Nursing regarding floor orientation, training and scheduling for newly hired employees.
- Informing the supervisor(s) of last minute shift changes ensuring proper shift coverage.
- Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes.
- Filling time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out.
- Assisting in recruiting, screening, testing, interviewing and orienting prospective employees.
- Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule.
- Participating in Facility Management meetings as required.
- Developing staff and promoting a supportive team environment.
- Developing work schedules by allocating employees in shifts and positions.
- Assuming responsibility for timekeeping and time off requests.
- Collaborating with payroll to ensure correct employee compensation.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
- Preparing and submitting reports on staffing operations.
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to think outside the box when resolving problems/issues.
- Prior experience as staffing coordinator or in a similar position required.
- Experience working with computer systems and software.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills required.
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to learn.
