Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Merced is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to optimize staffing across departments, schedule personnel, process staffing requests, manage call-outs, and communicate with staff and management about assignments and availability.

You will maintain schedules, attendances, and personnel data, generate projections for leadership, and support nursing administration with daily tasks. You’ll also manage contract staff, verify credentials, and perform audits for compliance and readiness.

Qualifications

• 2 years of equivalent staffing/time management experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily unit staffing by monitoring census and acuity while coordinating shift-to-shift assignments and replacements.
• Maintain accurate records of schedules, staff attendance, and personnel information within department databases.
• Generate and distribute staffing projections and reports to unit leadership for efficient operations and payroll accuracy.
• Provide professional communication and support to all staff members while assisting nursing administration with daily office tasks.
• Oversee the lifecycle of contract personnel including credentialing, orientation, competency tracking, and invoice reconciliation.
• Conduct regular audits of staffing data and contract documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
