Job summary

Roseburg Forest Products in Oregon seeks a Recruiting & Onboarding Assistant to support recruitment and onboarding across facilities. You will partner with hiring managers to maintain staffing levels and deliver compliant hiring experiences while assisting new hires and promoting our culture.

Responsibilities include screening applications, scheduling assessments and interviews, conducting reference checks, maintaining hiring documents, and supporting new hire orientations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months HR experience.
• Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills.
• Team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Maintain confidentiality with ethical standards.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; basic HRIS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Supports the human resource function.
• Reviews applications and resumes.
• Screens applicants and schedules assessments.
• Schedules interviews with applicants.
• Performs pre-employment reference checks.
• Schedules and tracks background checks and drug testing.
• Maintains applicant documentation.
• Participates in new hire orientations.
• Tracks new employee progress.
• Attends local job fairs and recruiting events.
• Communicates available jobs to community ties and agencies.
• Maintains plant Manning levels to budgeted labor costs.
• Monitors applicant pool for admin recruitments; responds with letters as appropriate.
• Maintains part-time employee lists and disbursement of work.
• Supports safety policies and procedures.
