Job summary

The Clinical Nurse, UMMS Staffing (USC) provides safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered nursing care across UMMS inpatient, procedural, surgical, and ambulatory settings. As a member of the internal resource workforce, the USC RN is employed by the Staffing Center and deployed to clinical units based on organizational need and validated unit-specific competencies.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or eligibility via nurse licensure compact.
• AHA BLS certification (required).
• ACLS, PALS, NRP and NIHSS certifications may be required depending on unit competencies.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care aligned with patient population and unit acuity.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care in EMR.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality.
• Administers medications safely and uses clinical equipment per policy.
• Supervises nursing care activities within competency and policy.
