Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the UMMS Staffing (USC) program. This RN role is part of the internal resource workforce, deployed to inpatient, procedural, surgical, and ambulatory settings based on unit needs.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, assessments, care documentation, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, safe medication administration, and participation in quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current and active unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Maryland or eligible through NLC.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required.
• Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience in the past 12 months.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to patient population and acuity.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care in EMR.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality.
• Safely administers medications and uses clinical equipment per policy and competency.
• Delegates and supervises nursing care within scope and competency.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
