Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking an Operations Engineer – Well Interventions in Houston, TX. You will engineer, plan, and execute heavy workover and complex well interventions, collaborating with Drilling, Completions, Production, Reservoir, and Supply Chain to scale the program safely and cost-effectively.

The role requires a petroleum or mechanical engineering background, field experience, and strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals and field operating experience.
• Ability to develop and execute field operating programs.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and operational decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and execute heavy workover and well intervention operations (refracs, recompletions, lateral cleanouts, re-entry operations, casing remediation, and other complex interventions).
• Evaluate proposed workover candidates for technical feasibility, operational risk, duration, and execution cost.
• Review historical well construction, completion design, casing/tubular condition, cementing history and production data.
• Develop detailed operating programs including well-control requirements, barriers, procedures, and contingency plans.
• Develop AFE estimates, cost forecasts, and execution schedules; track performance against plan.
• Lead pre-job planning, risk reviews, and readiness; provide engineering support during field execution.
• Coordinate workover rigs, coiled tubing, snubbing, wireline, frac, fishing, and pressure-control services.
• Develop standardized heavy workover practices and post-job reviews; capture lessons learned.
• Create performance benchmarks ($/well, days/well, NPT, AFE vs. actual).
• Maintain safety, well control, integrity, and capital efficiency; support future opportunities.
