Job summary

Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) OCALI in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Staff Web Developer focused on product and UX. Hybrid role requiring on-site collaboration, with duties spanning development, testing, and maintenance of accessible web solutions for OCALI clients and staff.

The role emphasizes user-centered design, technical planning, and cross-functional teamwork to deliver scalable web solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid front-end development skills with HTML, CSS/Sass, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Bootstrap, jQuery, Alpine JS, Livewire, Laravel, Laravel Filament, NPM, and Laravel Mix.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Ability to analyze requirements, ask clarifying questions, identify risks, and deliver effective web solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, modernize, and maintain websites and web applications using established development standards and technology stack.
• Write clean, maintainable, accessible, and well-documented code that supports consistency, scalability, security, and long-term maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, test, resolve, and document bugs, accessibility issues, production problems, and other assigned technical needs.
• Participate in technical planning, solution design, quality assurance, code review, release activities, and improvement of existing websites and applications.
• Collaborate with product owners, technical project managers, developers, and stakeholders to understand goals, clarify requirements, identify user needs, surface risks or gaps, and translate approved requirements into functional, accessible web solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, project status, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation for applications, components, workflows, and development standards, and share technical knowledge with team members.
• Manage assigned work according to identified priorities, including tracking time toward client contract work as required.
• Perform other specific job-related duties as directed by senior leadership.
