Job summary

The State of Ohio - DPS seeks a Senior UI-UX-Programmer to design a modern, intuitive UI/UX for complex, workflow-heavy applications. You will gather requirements from business users, lead design discussions with IT staff, and create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and a reusable design system in an Agile environment.

You must present a portfolio, collaborate across teams, and ensure accessibility, security, and WCAG compatibility while delivering hands-on front-end integration with backend

Qualifications

• Verifiable experience in taking user interface requirements and using them to design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for workflow-heavy application
• Advanced understanding of information architecture and designing intuitive user interfaces, navigations, and multi-step workflows
• Experience developing a project within an AGILE methodology, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative delivery
• Experience with modern designer tools such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, or similar
• Familiarity with backend and frontend development environments sufficient to collaborate effectively
• Experience designing accessible interfaces that align with WCAG and Section 508 requirements
• Demonstrable understanding of secure UX design practices, accessibility standards, and designing interfaces
• Experience collaborating with frontend developers on HTML/CSS implementation details

Responsibilities

• Design UI/UX for modern applications with input from business users
• Create wireframes and interactive prototypes and user-friendly designs
• Work with backend developers to integrate front-end components
• Participate in backlog grooming sessions and other agile ceremonies
• Develop Design System library for reusability
• Ensure accessibility and security practices are applied
