Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Test Pilot onsite in Melbourne, FL. The role supports E-2D production acceptance flight tests and Foreign Military Sales, with up to 50% travel and possible extended international trips.

The successful candidate will lead test plans and safety oversight, fly as pilot in command, mentor pilots and flight test engineers, and contribute to training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Active US Government Secret (or higher) clearance with recent background check.
• Ability to obtain SAP clearance within a reasonable time.
• Current or former E-2D NATOPS qualification.
• 2,000+ hours total flight time and 1,000+ hours in E-2 or C-2.
• FAA Class II physical or equivalent medical clearance.
• FAA commercial pilot certificate with multi-engine and instrument rating.
• FAA Radio Operators permit.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain air vehicle acceptance procedures with technical justification.
• Oversee test plan development and safety for efficient testing.
• Lead pre-flight briefs coordinating aircrew and engineers.
• Lead post-flight debriefs and capture lessons learned.
• Execute missions as pilot in command during flight tests.
• Mentor pilots and flight test engineers.
• Maintain NATOPS and training materials.
