Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Test Pilot for developmental test of military aircraft, located 100% on-site at Edwards AFB, CA. You will develop test plans, perform flight test activities, and collaborate with flight test engineers and customers.

The role requires an active US government secret clearance, 1,500 hours PIC, FAA commercial multi-engine instrument rating, and TPS graduate status. Travel up to 10–25% may be required; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with 12+ years related experience.
• Active US government secret clearance.
• FAA commercial multi engine instrument rating.
• Military Test Pilot School (TPS) graduate.
• Experience in flight testing and working with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provides test pilot expertise to assigned programs and identify man-machine interface issues.
• Plan, develop and execute test flights to verify airworthiness and performance.
• Collaborates with Flight Ops Manager and Engineering team.
• Engage with program IPTs and REs to ensure designs are effective.
• Provide inputs to System Safety and development of flight manuals.
• Maintain proficiencies and currencies.
• Share best practices with other program pilots.
