Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Staff Test Engineer to support IST Engineering in the design, development, and facilitation of high-quality integration test procedures. This role will help enhance the entire solution development lifecycle and ensure requirements are met.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop IST plans and automation tools, maintain test artifacts, and document results. Some travel (up to 10%) and relocation assistance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, IT or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in software testing, verification, and validation.
• Experience in test automation technologies and scripting tools such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP and network principles.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM CLM and Doors Next Gen.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
• Experience working in cross-functional, global environments.
• Systems design, subsystem testing and integration testing experience.
• Preferred: railroad domain knowledge and exposure to AI-assisted testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring testing hardware and software meet system requirements and interface specs.
• Participate in reviews of requirements, operational scenarios, and use cases.
• Develop IST plans, test procedures, and automation tools for customer solutions.
• Develop and maintain IST test procedures based on new features and defects.
• Preserve test execution results and reporting for regression cycles.
• Configuration management of test procedures and artifacts.
• Review test results and log defects.
• Conduct peer reviews for quality and consistency.
• Contribute to IST scope estimations for projects.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
