Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a mid-level Software Test Engineer IV to design, develop, and maintain test plans for embedded software in rail control systems. You will execute test procedures, ensure traceability to requirements, and contribute to automation efforts in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and at least six years in software testing/embedded systems, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (EE/CS/CE/SE) or equivalent.
• 6+ years of software testing/embedded systems experience.
• Strong understanding of electronic control systems and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with test planning, execution, and reporting.
• Experience developing programmatic test solutions or automation (Python/C/C++).

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze requirements for testability.
• Develop detailed test plans and procedures with minimal guidance.
• Create, execute, and maintain test cases with full traceability.
• Perform hardware/software system and integration testing.
• Document results and produce comprehensive test reports.
• Maintain communication with peers, developers, and stakeholders.
• Assist with lab equipment setup and maintenance.
• Design and maintain test automation to improve coverage and efficiency.
