Job summary

Supernal in Irvine, CA is seeking a Staff Engineer, Systems Engineering to lead FAA-focused system architecture, requirements and certification activities across the aircraft development lifecycle. This role requires strong MBSE skills, ARP4754A/ARP4761A knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration on-site five days a week.

You will drive interface coordination, configuration control, and verification activities, ensuring compliance with DO-178C/DO-254 and Part 21 obligations while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of aircraft systems engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of ARP4754A/ARP4761 and certification frameworks.
• Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 21 and DO-178C/DO-254.
• Experience in requirements management and MBSE methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Review and govern system architectures and major decisions across development phases.
• Ensure sizing, margins, safety budgets and performance allocations at vehicle level.
• Lead cross-functional interfaces to maintain configuration coherence.
• Provide technical positions at SRR, PDR, TRR and CCB milestones.
• Identify and mitigate certification risks with delegated authority.
• Align outputs with FAA Part 21 obligations and verification artifacts.
