Job summary

Supernal in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Lead Engineer, System Safety, to own the safety strategy across the aircraft lifecycle and drive the system safety process in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment.

You will lead safety analyses (FHA, PSSA, PRA, ZSA, CMA, etc.), coordinate with certification authorities, and mentor safety engineers while ensuring compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761 and PL.2510. Strong FAA/EASA knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of aerospace safety leadership experience.
• Experience delivering safety analyses across aircraft programs (FHA, PSSA, PRA, ZSA, CMA, etc.).
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-178B/C and RTCA DO-254.
• Strong knowledge of ARP4754A/ARP4761 and PL.2510 / 23.1309.
• Experience with safety aspects of eVTOL or novel air vehicles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the System Safety function for assigned programs, developing and executing overall safety strategy throughout the product lifecycle.
• Serve as technical authority for system safety, providing direction and risk disposition recommendations.
• Lead cross-discipline coordination of system safety activities with suppliers and external partners.
• Represent the safety organization in executive reviews and communicate program safety status and recommendations.
• Mentor safety engineers and drive continuous improvement of safety processes and standards.
