Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Staff Systems Design Engineer to coordinate across disciplines, decompose requirements, and guide system design using MBSE and DOORS. You will generate specifications and maintain verification matrices, with a focus on EOIR/RFEW domains and DoD platforms.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a STEM field with 12 years of related experience; OR MS with 10 years; OR PhD with 8 years
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving
• Experience on Agile teams with cost/schedule awareness
• Experience decomposing requirements for DoD-based platforms or systems
• Experience in presenting technical information effectively
• Working knowledge of DOORS and MBSE tools (Cameo, SysML)
• U.S. Citizen; ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Coordinate across disciplines to define and capture system requirements and design
• Decompose requirements and support trade studies for technical challenges
• Guide system design decisions using MBSE and DOORS-based artifacts
• Generate and update specifications and Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM)
• Develop and maintain system models and traceability artifacts
• Present technical results and maintain interface definitions (ICDs/IDDs)
