Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Staff System Administrator to join our Edwards AFB team in California. The role provides engineering and admin support for a group of administrators, with emphasis on cloud-based and hybrid-cloud systems and strict security standards.

The position requires cloud and on-premise system management, Linux/Windows administration, and automation expertise, plus the ability to travel up to 20% and support flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with extensive systems administration experience or equivalent degrees.
• Experience deploying and administering cloud-based and hybrid solutions.
• Linux and Windows OS administration in large environments.
• Automation experience (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Security+ or higher certification.
• Experience with VMware environments and VNets.
• Ability to document systems and create ATO artifacts.
• Experience with STIGs and GPOs.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and admin support onsite for a team of administrators.
• Build and maintain cloud-based and hybrid-cloud systems.
• Administer Linux and Windows systems in virtual and physical environments.
• Maintain and troubleshoot IP networking for cloud and hybrid systems.
• Automate deployment, operation, and maintenance using IaC and CM tools.
• Serve as primary site lead reporting status and outages to leadership.
• Provide guidance and training to junior admins.
• Review supplier design data and define test requirements.
• Test, maintain, and integrate IT equipment for ground/flight operations.
• Collaborate with system admins and onsite personnel to troubleshoot issues.
• Up to 20% travel.
