**General Summary:**

This engineering position offers the opportunity to collaborate with leading wireless operators, infrastructure vendors, and R&D teams on cutting-edge wireless technologies such as 6G, 5G, 5G-Advanced, and LTE. Responsibilities include performance characterization and optimization of 5G/5G-Adv/LTE systems, debugging, demos, OTA field trials, and working with network equipment providers to resolve interoperability issues. Additional duties involve system performance evaluation, design, capacity estimation, troubleshooting, and participation in interoperability tests and field trials. The candidate should have an academic background in digital communications, wireless, and computer networks, with expertise in machine learning for log/data analysis, encompassing data collection, model training, deployment, and staying current with AI developments. The role requires understanding detailed technical designs, providing onsite support to mobile operators, and coordinating across teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about emerging wireless technologies and AI, eager to learn, innovative, communicative, and flexible to travel.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Interact with wireless operators to investigate and characterize network performance.
2. Contribute to projects on advanced topics like ORAN/vRAN, private networks, fixed wireless access, small cells.
3. Optimize RF and OTA parameters, troubleshoot using data collection and processing tools.
4. Plan RF networks, calibrate propagation models, define link budgets, and plan network growth.
5. Use advanced tools to measure network performance.
6. Develop solutions using in-house simulation platforms and live data.
7. Support development of future network solutions for growth and expansion.
8. Create technical documents, white papers, and presentations on wireless performance and standards.
9. Present complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
10. Apply data analytics and machine learning for service portfolio enhancement, including data cleaning, model training, and architecture design.

**Wireless Networks/Technology Skills:**

• Knowledge of 5G NR, 5G-Adv, LTE PHY/MAC, and upper layers.
• Experience in performance assessment and optimization on RAN infrastructure.
• Academic background in digital communications, wireless propagation, network protocols, and related areas.
• Experience with 3GPP standards, cellular call processing, and data protocols.
• Familiarity with network planning and measurement tools (e.g., Atoll, TEMS, Ethereal).
• Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries.

**Programming and Machine Learning Skills:**

• Proficiency in Python scripting, with optional Perl.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and data manipulation.
• Understanding of neural networks, CNNs, RNNs.
• Experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Wireless Communication, GPA ≥ 3.4.
• 8-10 years of relevant cellular network engineering experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• MSEE with focus on Wireless Communication, GPA ≥ 3.4.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience.

**Additional Qualifications:**

• Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science with 4+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years in Systems Engineering or related fields.
