Job summary

DoorDash is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the storage abstraction platform on the Distributed Key Value team. This hybrid role is located in the New York Metro Area, Bay Area or Seattle and reports to the Engineering Manager.

You will own reliability, performance, and correctness, set technical direction, and drive architecture as the platform scales to meet exponential load while mentoring engineers and expanding impact across teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with storage abstraction layers or data-access gateways.
• Proficiency in Go in production systems.
• Ownership of Tier-0 / mission-critical services.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, performance, and correctness of the storage platform at scale.
• Set technical direction for the platform and drive architecture.
• Work deep in data plane including KV, CDC, and routing.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence roadmaps beyond scope.
• Design and operate systems for 100x growth with proactive resilience.
