Job summary

DoorDash's Storage organization is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Distributed Key Value team. You will help build a unified data-access layer in front of our databases and tackle latency, routing, and reliability at scale.

As a domain specialist, you will own platform reliability, performance, and correctness, set the technical direction, and mentor engineers across teams. This hybrid role requires you to be in the NY Metro, Bay Area, or Seattle region.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in at least one Tier 0 storage / data-plane system.
• Experience with storage abstraction layers or data-access gateways.
• Strong Go experience in production distributed systems.
• Proven ownership of Tier 0 / mission-critical services.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, performance, and correctness of the storage platform at scale.
• Set technical direction for the storage abstraction and data-access layer.
• Lead architecture decisions across the organization.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence roadmaps beyond the team.
• Take end-to-end ownership from onboarding to adoption.
