Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer for the Federal SRE Team within the Emerging Products Group. You will design, build, and operate highly reliable cloud services, lead incidents, and champion automation to improve reliability and developer velocity.

The ideal candidate drives operational excellence, mentors engineers, and collaborates across product and software teams. A TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large-scale production services in AWS and/or GCP.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Strong Terraform and Helm experience.
• Proficient in Go and/or Python software development.
• Experience building automation and CI/CD with GitOps.
• Familiarity with observability platforms and production telemetry.
• Experience with distributed data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, MySQL, Cassandra).
• Understanding cloud networking, DNS, load balancing, and security basics.
• Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale cloud infrastructure and production services.
• Participate in on-call rotation for highly available systems.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Define and improve SLI/SLOs and error budgets.
• Collaborate with teams to improve availability and performance.
• Develop automation to reduce toil and optimize pipelines.
