Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to lead the reliability and scalability of Splunk Agent Observability's platform in a hybrid setup.

The role focuses on lifecycle reliability, deployment automation, and operational excellence across cloud and on-prem deployments. You will drive standards for SLOs, capacity planning, and resiliency, mentor engineers, and collaborate with leadership to shape platform architecture and production readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related fields.
• 5+ years operating large-scale Kubernetes platforms in production.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other public clouds.
• Strong experience designing CI/CD platforms and deployment automation at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define technical roadmap for platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Lead architecture of deployment platforms for cloud and air-gapped environments.
• Establish SRE standards including SLOs, capacity planning, and resiliency reviews.
• Lead major reliability initiatives across Kubernetes, deployment infrastructure, databases, and networking.
• Drive automation to reduce toil and improve productivity.
• Design internal platforms and tooling for reliable operations at scale.
• Lead incident response and drive long-term remediation.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering bar through reviews and guidelines.
• Collaborate with customers and teams to build secure, scalable deployment architectures for cloud and on-prem environments.
