Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a hybrid role split across multiple on-site locations including San Francisco and San Jose.

You will lead reliability, scalability, and deployment automation for the Splunk Agent Observability platform, shaping the long-term roadmap and driving large-scale infrastructure initiatives. You will own complex production systems, define SLOs and capacity planning, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with SRE or cloud infra.
• 5+ years operating large Kubernetes platforms in production.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other clouds.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for platform reliability and scalability.
• Lead architecture and evolution of deployment platforms for cloud and on-prem environments.
• Establish reliability engineering standards including SLOs, capacity planning, and resiliency reviews.
• Lead major reliability and scalability initiatives across Kubernetes, deployment infra, databases, and networking.
• Drive automation to reduce toil and improve productivity.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards through reviews and guidelines.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to build secure, scalable deployment architectures.
