Job summary

Babylist is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to own the infrastructure and reliability practices for 9 million+ users. You will advance security, automation, and developer tooling across AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines while guiding platform initiatives and incident response.

You will work in a remote-first environment across the U.S. and Canada, shaping long-term reliability, improving runbooks, and mentoring engineers to move fast with confidence.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills with production experience.
• Experience building security into production systems.
• Hands-on Terraform expertise and IaC ownership.
• Proven AWS experience at scale (EKS, RDS, networking).
• Production Kubernetes operations and debugging experience.
• CI/CD systems design and improvement.
• Strong observability instincts with actionable alerts.
• Experience with on-call and incident reviews.
• Supporting developers across local, staging, and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
• Ship tested tools and self-service workflows for engineers.
• Build secure defaults and automated drift checks.
• Maintain CI/CD reliability across teams and pipelines.
• Support engineers when environments break and improve runbooks.
• Define SLIs/alerts and drive reliability improvements.
• Validate backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Lead or support incident response and post-mortems.
• Shape platform strategy and mentor engineers.
