Job summary

Temporal Technologies seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Test Systems & Tooling team to lead initiatives enabling sophisticated system-level testing across Engineering. You will build platforms and tooling to reproduce, validate, and prevent complex interactions between workload, scale, and multi-tenant behavior.

You’ll mentor engineers, drive testing strategy, and partner with Reliability and Release Engineering to embed validations into the release pipeline.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and operating production-quality systems.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across ambiguous, cross-team initiatives.
• Experience designing for observability, debuggability, and operational readiness.
• Comfort working across organizational boundaries with multiple teams.
• Strong written communication for design docs and testing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Build production-like test environments and tooling to resemble production topology and behavior.
• Enable production-representative workloads including workload generation and multi-tenant testing.
• Make failure-mode testing repeatable with tooling for injecting and validating failures.
• Drive system-level test coverage by identifying high-impact scenarios and implementing repeatable coverage.
• Build shared frameworks and paved paths for teams to write system and integration tests.
• Mentor engineers and influence testing strategy across the org via design docs and reviews.
