Job summary

Temporal Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Compute in Temporal Cloud to build durable, multi‑tenant compute primitives and scalable autoscaling for a variety of execution environments.

You’ll own high‑impact services on the hot path of task execution, define secure cross‑account boundaries, and drive operability with SLOs, tracing, and incident reviews, while mentoring peers across teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building distributed systems and multi-tenant platform services.
• Strong systems fundamentals including concurrency, performance, reliability and failure‑mode thinking.
• Track record of shipping platform primitives and APIs for engineers and customers.
• Comfort owning outcomes: SLOs, incident response, and on‑call improvements.

Responsibilities

• Invent: create managed compute primitives and clean APIs across providers.
• Own: architect and operate hot-path services with strong performance and correctness.
• Teach: lead through reviews, design docs, and cross-team mentorship.
• Collaborate: partner with Server, SDKs, Security, and Control Plane teams on platform changes.
