Brain Corp in San Diego, California is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead our Software Engineering Applications team. You will drive development of in-house robot software, mentor engineers, and push for robust, scalable applications across our AMR platforms.

You should have 7-8 years of software experience with Python and C, plus 1-2 years of technical leadership. This role collaborates across hardware, firmware, and cloud to deliver state-of-the-art autonomy features and high-quality

Qualifications

• 7-8 years of software development for complex systems interacting with sensors inputs or control-loops.
• 1-2 years of demonstrated software technical leadership experience.
• Experience writing Python applications and knowledge of Python constructs and internals.

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, and develop our in-house robot software applications.
• Serve as a technical lead by mentoring junior engineers and driving clean code.
• Identify risks, provide status updates, and improve software development processes.
• Contribute as a significant code creator, building scalable robot software worldwide.
• Improve performance via profiling, debugging, and testing.
• Support integration of autonomy features (deep learning, mapping, perception, motion planning).
• Own and improve software quality and architectures across domains.
