Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Agent Engagement and Experience team to build customer service and compliance platforms at scale. You will anchor new projects, set technical direction, and mentor engineers while delivering distributed backend services in production.

You will work with Go (Golang), gRPC, TypeScript, and React to create scalable, high-traffic systems and partner across time zones to drive platform improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience including architecting distributed systems.
• Deep proficiency in Go and production-grade backend services with API development (gRPC, GraphQL) and data stores.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps tooling (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD).
• Proven track record of leading technical projects end-to-end and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver distributed backend systems and infrastructure components using Go, gRPC, TypeScript, and React.
• Lead technical direction by defining roadmaps with management and stakeholders; translate ambiguity into architectural plans.
• Build high-reliability services to streamline CX agent workflows and compliance processes from design to production.
• Mentor engineers on design, testing, and operational practices to raise quality.
• Collaborate across time zones to identify platform improvements and communicate complex concepts clearly.
