Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead a team of engineers building production applications loved by customers and associates.

You'll help drive architecture, tool selection, and production readiness, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to reusable code and documentation. This role emphasizes delivery, learning, planning, and collaboration within an agile Product Team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in site reliability engineering or related field.
• Proficient in cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript frontend tech and databases (Relational/NoSQL).
• Familiar with CI/CD, monitoring, security, testing, and debugging; strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and execution: Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software with a clear value proposition; ensure rapid production deployment.
• Learns and grows: pursue formal and informal development opportunities; learn from experiments.
• Plans and aligns: communicate across audiences; work with Product Team to ensure user stories are developer-ready.
• Supports and enables: mentor junior engineers; identify gaps and propose team improvements.
