Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead and contribute technically on a next‑generation platform. You will build scalable microservices, drive architectural decisions with senior engineers, and deliver high‑quality software in a fast‑paced, health‑tech environment.

You will mentor junior developers, collaborate across IT and business teams, and help shape digital assets that improve customer health experiences.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience delivering in a large-scale distributed software environment.
5+ years of Java development experience.
5+ years of hands-on enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost‑effective APIs.
3+ years of CI/CD Pipeline automation.
3+ years in an Agile-based development environment.
2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards.
Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability to meet objectives.
Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices.
Coordinate with team members to align on technical decisions and deliverables.
Adopt best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops to foster learning.
Collaborate with developers to implement complex features and improve existing functionality.
Mentor junior developers to grow technical skills.
