Job summary

Gusto is seeking seasoned full-stack engineers to join the PEO Benefits team. You will craft the national Master Health Plan systems, influencing architecture and ownership from spec to launch and iteration.

You will work on a large Ruby/Rails and React codebase, scale complex domains, and mentor teammates while collaborating across Product, Data, Design and Platform teams. This role blends technical craft with real-world impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of PEO experience preferred.
• Experience owning multi-quarter projects with measurable impact.
• Experience driving large cross-functional programs end-to-end.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test the PEO Benefits experience featuring shopping, flows, and integrations.
• Mentor engineers and help solve hard technical problems at scale.
• Scale a large Ruby/Rails and Javascript/React application.
• Collaborate with PM, Data, Design, and Platform Eng to ship features daily.
• Build products that customers genuinely love.
