Job summary
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Owego, NY seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead and contribute to mission-critical software development. You will influence technical direction, guide a team, and shape future capabilities and product roadmaps.
You will mentor engineers, own technical execution, and collaborate with customers and stakeholders to deliver reliable software across safety-critical domains.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 9+ years of professional software experience, or 7+ years with a related Master's.
- Proven experience leading a software engineering team through lifecycle phases.
- Experience planning, estimating, and coordinating technical work packages.
- Deep experience developing, integrating, and troubleshooting embedded software on RTOS or embedded Linux.
Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and coordinate software development across the full lifecycle.
- Analyze requirements and develop detailed software designs.
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain safety-critical software.
- Apply standards, processes, and tools to deliver reliable solutions.
- Resolve complex technical issues involving software requirements and performance.
- Develop documentation and software artifacts; mentor others and collaborate with teams.
