Job summary

Lockheed Martin RMS in Owego, NY is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Sr Stf to serve as the chief software technical authority for mission-critical aerospace programs. Lead architectural vision, establish engineering best practices, and guide cross-functional teams on complex embedded systems.

You will be the primary technical interface between software engineering, program leadership, chief engineers, and defense stakeholders, contributing to roadmaps and DO‑178C compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• Experience as Lead Software Architect on large-scale embedded systems.
• Subject matter expertise in real‑time embedded systems architecture and deterministic execution.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded Linux.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural vision and engineering best practices across multiple programs.
• Guide cross‑functional technical teams and influence product roadmaps.
• Serve as the primary technical interface between software engineering, program leadership, and defense stakeholders.
