Ladders is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Identity and Authorization to join a leader in IT. This remote role shapes secure identity and access capabilities for the engineering org and drives architectural decisions for authorization systems.

You will guide migrations from legacy approaches, establish patterns to boost velocity, and mentor engineers on identity challenges while promoting ownership and delivery quality.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience evolving enterprise-grade authorization systems under production traffic.
• Proven track record designing new authorization systems and migrating from legacy approaches.
• Experience supporting platform teams within larger engineering organizations.
• Background in companies focused on authentication or authorization products is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to improve engineering practices, designs, and velocity.
• Hands-on experience with relationship-based or fine-grained authorization systems.
• Solid understanding of identity protocols such as OIDC and SAML.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Identity and Authorization to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will shape secure, scalable identity and access capabilities that support the broader engineering organization. You will drive architectural decisions for authorization systems, guide migration away from legacy approaches, and help establish patterns that improve engineering velocity and code quality. The position also serves as a key technical resource for engineers working through identity and access challenges while promoting strong ownership across the team.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually
