• Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy for identity and access management across the organization's infrastructure.
• Lead the development of a model for agent identity and authorization for AI agents.
• Build and scale a distributed organization of engineers and security professionals globally.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into trade-offs between security and operational velocity.
• Advocate for identity and access perspectives to leadership, including VPs and C-level executives.
• Reduce access-related security incidents by addressing root causes.
• Automate access approval processes to enhance efficiency.
• Define and enforce access policies to meet regulatory and compliance obligations.

For our client, we are seeking a Director Software Engineering - Central Security to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This leader will drive the technical vision for identity, access management, and security infrastructure at scale within a global technology environment. The role will shape multi-year strategy, guide a distributed engineering organization, and partner closely with senior leaders to balance strong security controls with operational speed. It is also an opportunity to help define how AI agents are identified and authorized in a rapidly evolving enterprise landscape.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy for identity and access management across the organization's infrastructure
• Lead the development of a model for agent identity and authorization for AI agents
• Build and scale a distributed organization of engineers and security associates globally
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into trade-offs between security and operational velocity
• Advocate for identity and access perspectives to leadership, including VPs and C-level executives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering focused on security, identity, or infrastructure systems

• Experience in cross-functional partnerships across product, design, and data science
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on metrics, statistical uncertainty, and ecosystem trade-offs
