Job summary

Fabric is seeking a Staff Application Engineer on the Applied AI team to own every application surface the product touches—from the embeddable widget to the clinician portal and the Python service layer. You will make full-stack architectural decisions and mentor engineers.

You’ll work with TS/React on the frontend and Python on the backend, partner with AI/ML engineers, ship shared surfaces, and ensure dependencies stay current.

Qualifications

• 8+ years professional full-stack web software shipping and operating, with at least 1 year at staff level.
• Depth in TypeScript and React; fluency with Next.js.
• Strong Python with async web frameworks and data layer (schemas, migrations, caching).
• Experience delivering versioned dependencies (widgets/SDKs).
• Ability to maintain dependencies and mentor others.
• Partner with data scientists in LLM prompts and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Own application surfaces of live patient-facing product end-to-end.
• Advise on and ship full-stack architectural decisions.
• Build and operate AI Intake support surfaces including data flow and integrations.
• Maintain internal tools alongside customer-facing apps.
• Partner with AI/ML engineers to align application and model work.
• Ship and version shared surfaces used by other teams.
• Keep dependencies current and prevent crises.
• Mentor engineers, starting with entry-level.
